Above is the first draft of my second ident for BBC Four- two penguins turn to watch as the sun rises over an arctic scene and melts a nearby iceberg into a "4" shape. This scene made use of the "Morph" technique in 3DS Max and was challenging to create as the iceberg and "4" needed to have the same amount of vertices for the morph to work. The lighting is provided by a daylight system and the lens flare was created using Max's built in Effects system. The first scene was rendered with Radiosity lighting, the other scenes were not as Radiosity doesn't seem to work when objects in a scene are morphed. Music is an acoustic version of "Superman" by Joe Brooks.

I also rendered the first draft of my first ident in 720p resolution High Definition, which can be downloaded at www.tjmortimer.com/files/identhd.wmv or by clicking the image above. The file is a 47MB WMV, rendering time was around 3 hours!
